FEMA Gallery is the culmination of over a decade of collecting and obsession about art, and the passion for a special village.
Our first location is right by the beach, in the Historic Center of Cascais, Portugal, a multicultural place with visitors and residents from all around the world, making it the perfect place to start this project. Our founders, Pedro and Carolina, a brazilian couple who moved to Cascais in 2020, spent almost 2 years searching for the perfect location and finally found it at the number 9 of Rua Afonso Sanches. Facing Cascais Bay, this Building, called Vidraceiro Building, was a historical Portuguese glass factory that got deactivated.
With a main focus on primary market, the gallery aims to work with emerging and established artists through their artistic research and creative process, showcasing them to new audiences and bringing together artists, collectors, curators and institutions.
In parallel, the gallery will also operate on the secondary market, in order to connect collectors with special pieces worldwide, and also giving liquidity to others who want to make changes on their collections.
We believe that dialogues between generations, genders and cultures can create a rich environment for everyone, that will benefit all the members involved in this ecosystem.
In 2025, the gallery will open its second location, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, inside the historical village of Horto, Jardim Botânico.
The opening in Rio de Janeiro will help fostering the exchange between artists and collectors from the two continents.
